Just finished a week of great learning at TC's Reading and Writing Project's Reading Institute. The new work on performance assessments is pretty amazing. I am so anxious to try them out this fall.

Reading about Nikki Grimes
Nikki, a wonderful author, and good friend, has just posted an interview on wordswimmers. Great advice for all writers. Can't wait to see what Nikki is working on now. My kids love Make Way for Dyamonde Daniel.

Just finished Leonardo's Shadow. Great book by Christopher Grey giving you a window into Leonardo da Vinci's life. Leaves you with so many questions and a desire to do some research.
